Today we give you a Vegan BBQ sauce that is perfect for falafel. Just add lemon to the already vegan Okonomi Sauce, for a zesty fresh flavor.

Ingredients

 

Dried chickpeas 7 oz
Onion 2 oz
Garlic(diced) 1 clove
Fresh parsley 1 oz
Cumin powder 1tsp
Cooking oil to taste
Okonomi Sauce 3tbsp
Lemon 1tbsp

Instructions

      1. Rehydrate the dried chickpeas with water. (Approx. 8 hours – lots of water)
        * Boiled chickpeas can be used as they are.
      2. Use a blender to mix onions, parsley and garlic together.
      3. Add chickpeas and cumin to (2) and blend again.
        If you like your chickpeas a little chunky, don’t blend too much.
      4. Finish blending (3)to your desired consistency.
      5. Shape (4) into bite-sized pieces.
      6. Fry the bite-sized pieces (5) in oil.
      7. Squeeze about 1 tbsp of fresh lemon juice into a dish.
      8. Add about 3 tbsps of Okonomi sauce to (7).
      9. Arrange on a plate and enjoy!
