Garlic parmesan sauce is simple to make and so delicious. Parmesan is one of my favorite types of cheese. This rustic savory cheese has been referred to as the “king of cheeses.”

This savory dairy product makes for a delicious sauce for any pan fried pork chops recipe. Other ingredients in the garlic parmesan sauce include butter, garlic, and buttermilk. Buttermilk is a heavy dairy product created from the butter churning process.

This main course is savory and succulent.

I love using buttermilk for sauces like this garlic parmesan sauce because it has a unique flavor. It is the liquid left behind from churning butter out of cultured cream. However today’s modern buttermilk is cultured and common in warm climates. It’s a delicious addition to sauce for pan fried pork chops recipes.

Other sauce ingredients include vegetable broth, black garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. I also add corn starch to thicken it up a bit. To make the sauce I like to melt the butter in a sauce pan first in order to brown the garlic. Then I add in the seasonings and vegetable broth and buttermilk.

  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 2 cloves garlic (peeled, finely chopped) 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1 tsp black garlic powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp corn starch

  • 8 (6oz) boneless pork chops
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp orange juice

Instructions

Melt the butter in a sauce pan on medium heat then add the garlic

Reduce heat to medium low while browning the garlic for a minute or 2

Whisk in the salt, pepper, and black garlic powder before adding in the buttermilk and vegetable broth and simmer for 5 minutes

Toss in the parmesan cheese and cornstarch and whisk thoroughly

Remove from heat and allow to rest and thicken

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Pat the meat down with paper towels to remove extra moisture

Sprinkle them with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a dash of orange juice

Bring a cast iron skillet to a medium high heat before placing pork chops in the pan (4 at a time is good)

Sear the meat for 5 minutes per side then put the meat in the oven for 15 minutes
