Hamburger steak and homemade country gravy is absolutely superb in flavor! The combinations of ingredients like ground beef and creamy gravy are mouthwatering! I love it with a side of butter biscuits to scoop up the extra sauce! Yummy!

Homemade country gravy is different than other types of gravy because it is thick, white, and fluffy. For these reasons it’s also sometimes called white gravy. It’s often eaten with recipes like this one, biscuits, or country fried steak.

Other ingredients you will need for this hamburger steak and gravy recipe include 1 pound ground beef, 1 egg, and 1 tsp ground black pepper. Other tasty seasonings needed include 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp paprika, and 1 tbsp dried oregano. Don’t forget 1 tsp onion powder and 1/2 tsp black garlic powder for optimum beef flavor!

You will adore this homemade creamy sauce!

Other ingredients for the hamburger steak recipe that you want to use include 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 cup thinly sliced onion, and 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar. Lastly, try adding 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1/2 tbsp lime juice for an extra zesty taste to the meat.

Ingredients you will need to make this particular homemade country gravy sauce includes 2 tbsp butter, 3 tbsp finely minced white onion, and 1 cup beef stock. I use 3 tbsp cornstarch and 1 tbsp all purpose flour for a really thick and fluffy gravy.

Other important flavorful ingredients include 1 tbsp corn syrup, 1 tsp lemon juice, and 1/4 cup buttermilk. Additionally you will want to include 1 tbsp salt, 1/2 tbsp black pepper, 1/2 tbsp garlic powder, and 1/2 tbsp onion powder to thoroughly season the sauce.

Start making the hamburger steak and gravy by mixing the ground beef with the hamburger steak ingredients. Then form 3 or 4 beef patties out of the meat mixture before frying them up in some oil and onions in a proper skillet. These hamburger steaks only need to cook for about 5 minutes per side. You can easily make the homemade country gravy simultaneously in a sauce pan! See the full and detailed recipe below.
